Modifying a template

I need to modify how one of the template looks, how can I do this without my changes being overwritten by next plugin update?

I am using the latest version (3.1.36.5)

I may not need to modify the template after all, but just have to make style changes to style.css. How can I edit the css for a given template without it being overwritten by plugin update?

Hi,

The CSS can be added to your themes style.css file (updates to the theme may cause issues unless its a child theme) or to a plugin such as My Custom CSS.

Also to answer your original query, if you copy the templates over to wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates and edit them there updates will not delete the changes.
