Missing registration

Hi – I have an attendee who is registered (I see their payment in PayPal, and they’ve received an email from the system), however they are not showing up on the back end of the database. Please advise.

Hi there,

You can get the transaction ID from PayPal, and then go to Event Espresso > Payment Methods > Logs. Then you should be able to find the whether PayPal sent an Instant Payment Notification at the time the payment was made for that registration.

Hi Josh — unfortunately, there is no Payment Method’s option — the closest I have in EE3 is Payment Settings, and that doesn’t have a log anywhere on the page. What am I missing 🙂

Oh, sorry, I did not know you were on Event Espresso 3. You will find the payment log for PayPal in Event Espresso 3 by FTPing into your server to this location: /wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs/

Hi Josh — thanks — I had purchased support tokens previously regarding this issue and never had a solution – can you guys look again and let me know what the issue is?

After we looked into this before, we followed up with you and reported that the issue then was from the Shipping Address containing special characters. We did not hear back from you after that.

If you haven’t changed any settings to not require a shipping address, or if you want to require a shipping address, you can also go into your PayPal account and set your PayPal account settings to use UTF-8 encoding. There are instructions here:
