Message about Invoice/Receipt templates after upgrade to v4.6.4

Wordpress v4.1 EE4.6.4

After upgrade to latest version I’m getting this message:
Note: in this version of Event Espresso, PDF and HTML Invoices and Receipts are now Messages and can be changed just like any other messages; however we noticed you had previously overriden the old default Invoice/Receipt templates. Because of this, your old Invoice/Receipt templates will continue to be used INSTEAD of the new Invoice/Receipt message equivalents (but this will be removed in an upcoming version). We recommend deleting your old Invoice/Receipt templates and using the new messages system. Then modify the new Invoice and Receipt messages’s content in Messages -> Invoice and Messages -> Receipt.

I have some functions I’m using to change some text for the Process Payment button and the Invoice selection text – is that what I need to remove? I have also made some modifications to some of the files in the backend in regards to payments and checkouts – do I need to remove these files too?

I don’t see the new section under Messages for Invoices and Messages – will this only appear when I have removed my modifications?

The messages should be within the list already, this allows you to modify them before switching over.

If you go to Event Espress -> Messages.

You’ll see a list of active message types, within there you should have an Invoice and Receipt message type, like this – http://take.ms/B3LEl

Clicking on the Purchaser context will allow you to modify the Invoice template.

You should not no, it is more the actualy PDF templates that you would download that have changed. However if you can provide more details on this I can advise further.

This depends on what’s been changed. What files have you changed?

The Invoice/Receipt templates that message is referring to will be within:

/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/modules/gateways/Invoice/lib/templates/

Those are customised templates and will be used until removed (or EE updates), to switch to the new system you can remove them, or currently I recommend renaming ‘modules’ to ‘modules-temp’ (or another other than just modules)

This will de-active the old templates and allow you to test your customisations, then if you need to re-enabled them, just rename ‘modules-temp’ back to ‘modules’ again. This will only work in 4.6.X.
