We had two tickets set up on our system for sale: an early bird ticket (£185) and a standard ticket (£210). The early bird discounted ticket went on sale 2 weeks prior to the standard ticket going on sale at which point the early bird ticket was withdrawn from sale. This was to encourage more people to buy their tickets early. Some people paid cash and some people paid online.
However – now we have a situation where some of the money we have received in cash – money we received prior to the early bird discount ending so the individual paid on time – but the individuals did not register on time. Of course, now we only have the option of registering them for the standard ticket but our finances won’t add up and their transactions will appear as incomplete if we manually apply a payment of £185 for a ticket that (the system thinks) costs £210.
Would you have any proposed work arounds to this problem or is there a way to enable an admin to register someone for a ticket even though that ticket has expired?

I can see where that could be a problem.
There isn’t a way to add a registration to an expired ticket without opening it back up. However, you can add the registration to another ticket, then input the amount they paid, and still have the ability to set them as approved in order to deduct from the event’s maximum attendees. You can do this by hovering over the event’s name, clicking “Registrations”, then clicking the “Add New Registration” button at the top.

Thanks for the suggestion. That is indeed what I have done in the mean time but it makes a bit of a head ache for reconciling all the finances as this will show money as “missing.”
What I have done to work around this is make a consistent note with a fake payment method in the “Apply Payment” so there is no balance outstanding but that I can filter on payments made by this fake payment method. Not as sleek as it could be but it gets the job done for now.
Would you be able to make a request for the developers to look into an admin override that allows registrations by the admin for expired tickets?
