Hi, I am try to link ticket sales for a series of events as discussed with one of your pre-sales guys on a chat yesterday, but can’t quite figure out how to do it.
I have set up a number of events, all of which are in a category called “sailing”, the events are named as follows (event date is set as the title):
Sailing – Week 1 (28th April 2016)
Sailing – Week 2 (5th May 2016)
Sailing – Week 3 (12th May 2016)
Sailing – Week 4 (19th May 2016)
Sailing – Week 5 (26th May 2016)
Sailing – Week 6 (9th June)
Sailing – Week 7 (16th June)
Sailing – Week 8 (23rd June)
Sailing – Week 9 (30th June)
Sailing – Week 10 (7th July)
Sailing – Week 11 (14th July)

Each event costs £5 and can be booked individually.

As well as the individual sessions, participants can book weeks 6-11 as a block for £35.

I have set up an event called “Sailing – Structured Course (June & July)” with a price of £35 and added the datetimes of weeks 6-11 however, when I purchase a ticket, not all weeks in the series reduce the available spaces.

The capacity for each week is 15, regardless whether it’s a block booking or individually-booked session so I need it to:
1. reduce the available spaces for weeks 6-11 if someone books
2. not offer block booking via “Sailing – Structured Course (June & July)” if any one of the individual events (weeks 6-11) have reached capacity on individual bookings.

Hope that’s clear?

Hi Russ,

So it sounds like you’ve created multiple different events and are trying to link the sales values between those events, is that correct? If so that’s now how you set this up with EE.

You’ll need to create a single event, with individual datetimes for each week, like this – http://take.ms/4F1YB

(Once you’ve setup the datetimes I would advise publishing/saving the event, just so that as each section is created you update to prevent any of your selections being lost)

Then you want users to be able to purchase a ticket for each individual datetime correct?

So that means you’ll need to create a ticket for each datetime, like this – http://take.ms/KATCv

(Update the event)

To edit the ticket to be specific for a specific datetime, click the cog on the ticket row – http://take.ms/13hHh

That ticket applies to all of the selected datetimes, so we only want 1, for that specific ticket, uncheck all of the others –

That means sales for that ticket, only apply to THAT datetime – http://take.ms/zc9zQ

Now you want a ‘Sailing – Structured Course (June & July)’ ticket – http://take.ms/LAT1m

Notice that ticket applies to multiple datetimes, if you purchase a ticket it will add a sale to each of those datetimes. IF a single datetime from the selection is sold out (because users purcahsed individual tickets) the group ticket will no longer be available.

Is that what you are looking for?

Tickets gran access to specific datetimes (whichever you set) so you can create tickets that grant access for one datetime to all datetimes, it depends what you want to do.

Also please ignore my date, time and price values, you can input any that you wish into those fields.
