Limit ticket quantity for specific ticket

Hello,

I would like to limit the quantity of tickets for a particular ticket type (Free ticket for members) in EE4. How can I go about doing this without affecting the overall number of tickets that can be purchased (General Admission)?

Hi Peter,

Unless I’m missing something, it sounds like you just need to set the Qty field on the ticket itself. If your tickets apply to a single datetime the datetime limit is the ‘overall’ ticket limit, you can then set lower limits on specific tickets – http://take.ms/aXKZn

With the above you could sell, 90 paid + 10 free, 100 paid, or any other combination to equal the total available on the datetime.

Hi Tony,

Not quite. I would like to set number of tickets an individual can register. For instance, we have paying members of our organisation that entitle them to one free ticket so I would like the maximum number of tickets they can book to be 1. If they would like to bring guests they must purchase tickets for those people and therefore would not need an upper limit to the number of tickets that individual can purchase.

Oh, I see, you mean to restrict the qty of a specific ticket type a specific user can purchase per event.

Currently, Event Espresso does not police your ticket registration in that way. You can set limits on how many tickets a user can purchase in a single transaction but not prevent them from registering multiple times so you would need some custom development from a developer to do this.
