Hi I just purchased EE a few days ago and now it seems there is an update. I input my license key in the backend of my website, but now in the plugin screen it still says “There is a new version of Event Espresso available. View What’s New with version 3.1.36.5.P. You need a valid Site License Key to enable automatic upgrades. Your current membership level does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.”

It seems I have 3 license keys for some reason, 2 of them have “_FREE” at the end, it was not clear as to which one I should use so I went with the one that did not have “_FREE” at the end. Which is the correct key and why do I still get this message?

Hi Martha,

The one that doesn’t have the _FREE on the end is the correct one to use. While I don’t know why it’s still giving you the message, I’m going to give you a brand new key to use. Please remove the old key and grab the new key from your account page.

Hello Josh, I did as you instructed and that message is now gone, but it is no longer saying an update is available.

Sometimes it will take a few minutes before the update notice will show up. You can try re-saving the Event Espresso > General settings page to force a check for updates.

Hmmm, ok I went and did that and checked the plugins page and I get the same message again!

Hello,

I’ve just deactivated your old support license and created a new one ending in ed. You can find your new key in your account page:

https://eventespresso.com/users/trilavie/

If you are using Event Espresso 3, please login to your WordPress admin and locate Event Espresso in the admin menu. Then click on General Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and locate the area for Support License. Now copy the existing key. Then erase the existing key and click on Save Options. After the page refreshes, scroll back down to the Support License area and paste your key and click on Save Options.

If you are using Event Espresso 4, please login to your WordPress admin and locate Event Espresso in the admin menu. Then click on General Settings. Copy the existing key which appears at the top of the page. Then erase the existing key and click on Save on the right side of the screen. After the page refreshes, please paste your key and click on Save once more.

These steps will refresh your Support License Key for Event Espresso.
