If we are currently using the Authorize.net payment option, do we have to do anything about this:

JUNE 30TH MIGRATION TO AKAMAI IS NOW VOLUNTARY, BUT REMAINS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

As communicated over the past nine months, Akamai SureRoute technology has been introduced into our network environment as a new connection option. This technology automatically routes your transaction requests around issues that may occur on the Internet, thus helping to ensure your transactions are received by Authorize.Net, quickly, securely and reliably. Many Authorize.Net customers have already adopted this connection option and are taking advantage of the benefits offered by Akamai SureRoute technology. If you are not yet connecting to Authorize.Net via Akamai, we encourage you to do so.

WHILE WE CONTINUE TO ENCOURAGE ALL CUSTOMERS TO USE AKAMAI SUREROUTE, THE MIGRATION IS NO LONGER MANDATORY BY JUNE 30, 2016.

Which version of EE are you using?

EE4 now defaults to use Akamai as Authorize.net previously set the switch as mandatory and all users would eventually need to switch over. However from the above it seems auth.net have now decided this isn’t the case both Akamai the ‘old’ route should work.

I will check with our developers on this but you should not need to make any changes.

Mainly EE4 but have a few on EE3. Is there an issue on EE3?

No, there should be no issue as EE3 will continue to use the standard route.

Authorize.net initially announced that they would switch over all routes to use Akamai, the current route would simple redirect to the Akamai route. However they have now changed this and will support the current implementations are is but allow users to change over to Akamai should they prefer.
