I have the Event Espresso app all set up for ticket scanning on my android phone and tablet and all of a sudden it is not recognising my username and password even though I’ve entered in all of the correct info (it worked only a few hours ago).

I also noticed when I was able to log on earlier today that there is a limit of 50 attendees on each event to check in. I have the ticketing plug in all set up. How do I increase this as I will be having more than 50 ticket holders to scan at my events.

Hi Melanie,

You can first check to make sure that the Event Espresso API plugin is installed and activated. If it is not active, the mobile app will not let you log in.

There is also a max limit setting you can change in the Event Espresso API settings where you can set the limit to a higher number.

It is all installed and activated (we have been using it for past events and I could even log on earlier in the day yesterday on my tablet.

On the API settings page which one increases the limit for the check ins as all I have are “Events” set at 50, “Attendees” which was 100 and I’ve increased to 300 and “Registrations” which was set at 100 and I’ve increased to 300. There doesnt seem to be mention of limits for the check in app.

Should I be requesting that the support licence be updated? It is a matter of urgency that I fix up this problem where all of a sudden my previously working log in and password work as I have an event in 48 hours so it’s just a little frustrating that all of a sudden it’s not accepting my existing username and password.

Thanks!

Hi Melanie,

Lets start with getting you logged back in via the app.

Have you recently installed any security plugins? Login attempt plugins for example?

Does the app show any kind of error message when you try to login?

Do you have any caching plugins enabled on the site?

No new plugins have been installed and there is no caching plug in enabled on the site, when I try to log on I get:
Bad username and password combination. Error code 401

It’s crazy because earlier that same day that it started I had no problems logging in.

The only thing that was changed between the two attempts was on our wordpress event espresso plugin in the API settings I changed the numbers for Attendees and Registration fields to be 300. nothing else was altered so I cant see that this change would make such a catastrophic problem.

This is a very very slow process you have with no live help to sort out the problem when I’m paying for the app and wont be able to use it for a major event this weekend as I’m still “to and fro”ing with you about this issue with still no real advice yet.

I was also told that somewhere in the API settings I can increase the number of check ins shown on the app (it was limited to 50 last time I could log in) and I need this to be increased. I cant see an option on that API settings page for increasing that number (the total attendees total was already set at 100 so I’m not sure why I would have had a 50 limit).

I look forward to your prompt reply (frustrating though with time zone problems as I’m located in Australia!!)

I have tried deactivating all of the plugins and then just having event espresso and the api plug in activated and still getting the same error code.

I have the following running:
3.1.36.5.P
WordPress version WP 3.9.1
Installed plugins
Event Espresso – Custom Template Display by Event Espresso version 1.0,
Event Espresso – Members Addon by Event Espresso version 1.9.8.p,
Event Espresso – Multi Event Registration by Seth Shoultes version 1.0.5.p,
Event Espresso – Ticketing by Event Espresso version 2.1.p,
Event Espresso by Event Espresso version 3.1.36.5.P,
Form Generator for WordPress by Trevor Montgomery version 1.52,
Lux Vimeo by Matroschka version 1.3,
Pin It Button for Pinterest by Pinterest version 1.0,
ProPhoto Tweaks by ProPhoto Blogs version 1003

I have also tried today having Allow Public API access and I’ve gone to the url to check everything and it says status ok, status code 200

Got it sorted – the login page had my event espresso log in name not the wordpress log in name… confusing!! Just in time for this weekends event!

Hi Melanie,

I’m glad you go this sorted.

What you should happen with the attendees is when you tap on an event the app will initially check how many attendees the event has and then continue to load all of them. However it will do this in batches of (by default) 150 attendees at at time until it has loaded the total.

If the app is interrupted between loads you may need to refresh the attendee list (when at the top of the attendee list swipe you finger downwards) which will then force the app to reload the attendees (also applies within the event list).

Hope that helps and I am sorry for the delay in the replies to yourself, it is, as you mentioned due to time differences.
