Hello! I have an issue, we currently sell tickets in phases, each phase with a limited capacity. For one event we got 300 registrations and the capacity is 100, so currently the difference are on wait list. Is there a way to transfer them aitomaictly to the next phase of tickets or cancel the ticket automatically as the waitlist status creates confusion.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Currently, you can’t bulk transfer registrations onto other tickets, you can only do them individually using the attendee mover add-on. Either that or they’ll need to re-register onto the new ‘phase’ ticket.

You can change the registrations to cancelled in bulk, I’m not sure if thats what you are looking to do with your question above but will add some details on how.

Go to Event Espresso -> Events -> {hover over event} -> Registrations.

Now you are viewing all registrations for that specific event.

At the top of the table, you’ll see a dropdown that shows ‘Select Status’, set ‘Wait list’ there and then click filter. You’ll now be viewing only waitlist registrations.

(Note you can also get to this same list by clicking the ‘Wait list Registrations’ link in the ‘Update Event’ meta box when editing the event itself, is the links right about the ‘Publish’/’Update’ button)

From there you can select the registrations by clicking the checkbox on the top left of the table to select all in the current view, then in the bulk actions dropdown select ‘Cancel Registrations’ and apply. If you also select the ‘… and notify’ option when doing this it will trigger a ‘Registration cancelled’ email for each of those selected registrations.

Is that what you are looking to do?

So to be honest, it sounds like you would be better not using the waitlist feature for this event setup.

It’s possible to set up your event so that the waitlist option only becomes available once ALL of your phases are complete, but I’m not sure if that helps here?
