We’re still having an issue with drafting events; it gives us a critical error every time we draft an event. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you tell us if you’re saving/draft the event, without any ticket connected to your datetime?
Are you using the legacy or advanced editor?

No, it wouldn’t problem if you switched from legacy to advance, there will be no option affected.
There’s a report last time that they have this fatal error when they don’t link ticket on datetime and save the event.
In your case, you have attached ticket right? Can you help us more, by doing a loom video showing the process you’re doing? we might see some problem along the way.

The fatal you are getting currently relates to Datetimes within the event.
$first_datetime->start_date_and_time() throws a fatal because EE can’t find any datetimes, so $first_datetime is null.
Can you add a screenshot of your “Event Tickets & Datetimes” section, please?

Is that something that could be moved to the Advanced Editor?
The Advanced editor doesn’t change editor we use for the event description, its a change to the event editor in regards to how Datetimes and Tickets are edited so its shouldn’t conflict with anything you are using currently.
When you WP Blocks code, can you give an example of this?
