Issue with changing "Countries" Setting (EE4)

Hi

This is possibly a silly question but I’ve downloaded the Event Espresso 4 Beta to try it out; but when I attempt to change the country setting away from the United states to UK within the general settings tab, it drops me on another page of the WordPress site without any of the settings changes taking effect. Has anyone else had this issue and or figured out how to fix it?

Thanks in advance…

Hi Dominic,

Is this within the ‘Your Organisation’ tab or the ‘Countries’ tab?

Could explain the steps you are currently taking?

When are you re-directed and to which page please?

Hi Dominic,

I’m having some trouble duplicating this issue on a test site. You should see a small gear spin and it should load the information for the United Kingdom right away.

Could you retest with only Event Espresso running?

Hi Both

In regard to Tony’s question, I’m using the “Countries” tab, select the “United Kingdom” from the select country drop down menu and then click “Save Country Details” once this occurs the browser redirects to what seems to be a “page not found” error.

I am seeing the gear spinning and I have deactivated all additional plugins, the only thing I can see that looks a bit odd is the page footer which says:

“Event Registration and Ticketing Powered by Event Espresso – 4.1.8.reg” but on the right hand side says “Version 3.8.1” could it be picking up settings accidentally from the previously installed version?

“Event Registration and Ticketing Powered by Event Espresso – 4.1.8.reg” but on the right hand side says “Version 3.8.1? could it be picking up settings accidentally from the previously installed version?

This is expected behavior – Event Espresso includes the version number on the left, WordPress on the right.

Event Espresso 4.1.8.reg and WordPress version 3.8.1

Is it possible for you to send use Temporary log in details to take a look at this please?

If so please send using https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Hi Tony

Filled out the Send Login Details but it seems to be missing the button to submit it, can you advise?

Hello,

The submit button for the form appears after you have answered “Yes” to the last question.

Hi Dominic,

If you check out the Permalink structure currently set on the site you’ll find this: http://take.ms/k8EVx

Which is not a URL structure and will cause issues such as what your are currently experiencing.

The most common would be ‘/%postname%/’

If you click on the ‘Post Name’ radio button then save the settings that will correctly set and flush the permalinks which will likely fix the issue.

Hi Tony

I have changed the permalinks setting in WordPress, but still experiencing the same issue, can you think of any other cause for the problem?

Hi Lorenzo & Tony

I removed the wordpress site yesterday and re-uploaded it, this seems to have fixed the issue I initially highlighted (still strange though).

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Kind regards
