Is EE3 compatible with PHP version 5.2.17

Hello. I am a web developer creating a new website for a therapist offering workshops. My client just purchased EE4 License, but on install we find that it is only compatible with PHP 5.3.0 or greater. Making this PHP version change may cause problems with other scripts I am running at the moment. Would using EE3 instead of EE4 be a solution and how can I get EE3? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

EE3 should work fine with PHP5.2

If you would like to change over to an EE3 license you can do so within your account page. Just above your license keys you will find a dropdown to change your license type, select the EE3 license you prefer and follow the on screen instructions to change.

Although changing to EE3 is a current solution PHP5.2 is End Of Life and has been for sometime. I would highly recommend updating to a newer version of PHP, personally I would update to 5.6 currently. The more time that passes the more issues you will run into when trying to remain on PHP5.2 when using various plugins.
