Hi,

I have the Event Espresso API installed, please help.

Thanks

Hello,

What version of the following are you using:

Event Espresso
WordPress
Ticketing Add on
Services API – there isn’t an easy way to find this, but have you downloaded it recently? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-ticketing/

Hello,

Event Espresso 3.1.30.7P
WP 3.51
ticketing 2.09
api is 2.0.0.B

by the way it works under ipad app, just doesn’t work on iphone, strange.

Thanks!

@Malcolm — the API plugin is used by the iPad app. It is not (currently) used by the iPhone app. That requires the espresso-services files which can be found in the documentation for the Ticketing add-on. The iPhone/Android app won’t work without those files and if you are using an outdated version, it may result in issues fetching data.

Well it seems i am having the same issue here. Espresso-services installed and confirmed working, but iPhone app keeps spinning when loading Upcoming events. I entered some debug info on the events.php and it is echo-ing the following data to my iPhone:

0Success211-51599f27dd725euver-de-top-fees-1-51599f27dd7252013-07-192013-07-2021-5159d80dc9ea5bier-fest-1-5159d80dc9ea52013-07-202013-07-21

As far as i can see it is not malformed, do you have any clue what is happening why the iPhone doesn’t display the list of events and keeps spinning (Loading – Fetching events).

  • Espresso: 3.1.307P
  • Ticketing: 2.0.9
  • API : 2.0.0B
  • Services: 2.2

Using an iPhone 5, don’t know if this is the actual cause of my problems!

Hi Pascal,

Can you check the permissions on the espresso-services folder? Normally that should be set to 755, but it may need to be adjusted if the server’s configuration doesn’t work well with 755.

Also, is this a single site installation of WordPress?

Hi Josh,

Single site installation indeed. Permissions are ok, if they were not, i could not get any information back from my debug, it is outputing correct XML, no errors are logged request returns a perfect 200, but iPhone keeps on spinning. I tried the iPad app (which is using the API) and this is working flawless.

Hi Pascal,

I”m not sure what would cause this. There is a new version of the Event Espresso HD app that was just released in the app store that you can use on your iPhone as well as your iPad, and it uses the new api. There’s also an update for the new API that you can download from the pre-release downloads section of your account page.

Thanks that solves it anyway. So now we can remove the services directory since iPad and iPhone are using the API from now on ?
