Invoices Automatically Approve

We have a paid event.
When I test an invoice payment, it automatically approves the attendee. The event is set to pending approvals.

Paypal gateway will have the correct amount.

I have the latest version installed.

Please advise.

Hi Alisa,

Where are you setting the default registration status?

There’s actually 2 settings, one within Event espresso -> Events -> Default settings.

What that does is set the default value that is set on the event itself when you create a new event. So if you edit your event and look within the side bar you’ll find another Default Registration Status setting for the event itself, is that set to Approved?

Tony, Its set to pending.

I initially thought that since I’m admin that it was automatically approving my email address… Same thing happens when I’m logged out, different browser, and used different emails…
Unless this automatically approves admin email addresses?

This is how I’ve set my pricing also..
Used the default free and modified within the event. Then set to default there.

I had been able to get invoices previously, when first set up a month ago… however, now I need to go live and it is doing this…

Hi Alisa,

I’ve ran 3 registrations on your event.

1 registration Approved, the other 2 are pending payment.

Do you have any caching plugins running on the site?

Using WP 4.3 and about to upgrade that… not sure if that has anything to do with this…?

Set up another event and is working… using a previous email that was not working..
If you find out anything else, please let me know.. I will be monitoring this.

Another thing… as I read issues on the forum… We are using Yoast (as you asked about a caching plugin)… our version again is not the latest… but it is there..

As I’m reading thru the forum, weary about updating both WP and Yoast..

Can you advise?

That should not cause any problems with the default registration status.

So far I’ve been unable to reproduce this so I’m not sure what happened, did you make nay changes between it working and not?

We are using Yoast (as you asked about a caching plugin)… our version again is not the latest… but it is there..

The issue with Yoast was that it runs the_content filters earlier than most plugins to check your post content, this caused some problems with check added to EE that prevent duplicate content (fixes for themes using the_content() twice etc)

We’ve had a recent report of Yoast causing the datepicker to have problems, however we have been unable to reproduce that so it could be a symptom of another plugin/theme conflict.

As I’m reading thru the forum, weary about updating both WP and Yoast..
Can you advise?

We recommend creating a development copy of the site that you can run updates on first to check all works well, this means any issues that do come up can be worked through away from view of your visitors and without the pressure of the site being down.

One of the easiest methods to creating this is using a plugin such as Duplicator.

So we have not changed anything to the settings or event to have it start working.. I registered after you said you had a successful registration and it worked.

I will look at the Duplicator and see how that works out and before we upgrade everything…

Will report back. Thanks
