Hi, i am using EE 3.1.28.5.P
I just bought a licence key so that I could upgrade.
In the update area of plugins, there is a message stating that my licence key is invalid or expired.
Is the licence update immediate or can I expect a delay…
Thanks

Hi Daniel,

The licence on your account is valid and currently being used on bbbp.com.au.

If that is correct and you are still receiving the messages, let me know and I will reset the key.

Hi Daniel,

Your license key has been reset, please go to Event Espresso -> General Settings. Remove the key (cut) save the settings, replace the key (paste) and save the settings once more.

This should resolve the issue.

Thanks Tony. Tried that and it hasn’t worked.
Just logged in to EE and it says my key is not active.

Hi Daniel,

Please make sure there are no spaces before and after the license key.

Thanks Seth, I’ve done that too. When I log in to my Event Espresso account ie NOT my website, the key is now listed as “not valid”.

Actually, “not active” is the status.

Hi Daniel,

I looked further into this, it looks like you’ve purchased the EE4 Personal License which includes EE4 only. So the message you are receiving is correct, as that relates to EE3.

Are you looking to upgrade to EE4 or the latest version of EE3?

If you are looking to use EE4 have you checked it will fit your use case as currently it doesn’t not support any of the add-ons and does not include some functionality that is included within EE3. More information is available HERE and HERE

Due to the version of Event Espresso you are currently using EE4 can not migrate your current data to be used within EE4 (V3.1.36+ required) although you can start with no data (no events etc).

Depending on your feature requirements you may find EE3 suits your needs more currently, which would require a different license.

Thanks Seth. I would like to simply continue using EE as I have been. The only reason I purchased a licence for updates is because since updating my version of WP, customers have been receiving a warning message upon registration (something about an argument 2). Is there any way I can transfer my purchase to an EE3 licence? My events last for the whole year and I cannot lose that data. I’m keen to get this sorted ASAP as a number of customers have been concerned by the warning message which has prompted them to hold off on payment.
Thanks

Hi Daniel,

If you email sales@eventespresso.com they will be able to transfer your account. Include a reference to this thread within the email.

Regarding the error message, do you have WP_DEBUG enabled?

If so disable it, if the error is still displayed error reporting may be enabled on the server, you can disable that by adding

@ini_set( 'log_errors', 'On' );
@ini_set( 'display_errors', 'Off' );
define( 'WP_DEBUG', false );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

to your wp-config.php file.

Thanks Tony, I’ve got copied that to my file and it has gotten rid of the warning message.
Thank you very much.
I’ll get in touch with sales and transfer my purchase.
