Hello ,
We are running EE Version 3.1.36.4.p , on WP3.8(recently updated) and for some reason getting email with this subject: Instant Payment Notification – Gateway Variable Dump. It says that an instant payment notification failed.

Following your support forum , we have checked some settings. paypal sandbox mode is off, Paypal IPN is turned.

What else can cause this issue?

Thanks in advance

Hi Digilite Web Solutions,

Just to confirm, you have the correct account within Event Espresso -> Payment Settings. Paypal Settings -> Paypal ID.

Has that account had IPN activated within the account itself? (through the Paypal site itself. Paypal -> Profile -> Instant payment notifications)

Paypal Sandbox is un-checked within the same section of EE settings?

Yes , you are right.

Papyal ID is right.
IPN is turned on.
Sandbox is un-checked.

Are you using Paypal as your gateway?

You mention Moneris in a previous thread so just trying to help narrow down the issue currently.

Do you have any custom gateway files within wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways/?

I’d like to take a look at the install if possible, could you please send login details using https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

I can’t see any issues on the site.

Can you check the paypal.ipn_results.log file within wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs and see what, if any errors are thrown please?

I have checked , and can’t see any error for that transactions (there were only 2 emails) .

Hi,

I have been looking further into this but have been unable to find a cause.

Can you run a registration with Paypal Sandbox and see if the payment completes then please?

Also if we could see one of the failed transactions from the paypal.ipn_results.log that may also help.
