InfusionSoft Integration Credit Card Details Not Coming Through

Hi,

We are using the InfusionSoft payment gateway to process payments for transactions/event registrations.

I noticed with a transaction put through today (using an Amex) that the API did not bring through the Name or the Card Type, only the card number. When InfusionSoft goes to process the payment details it returns an error message.

The person completing the registration, also got an error message after submiting their card details on the Event Espresso Payment Page.

Any thoughts on a fix to this issue.

Thanks, Mike

I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue. Is this happening to all purchases or just one customer? Can you please provide the error message?

Hi Seth,
This issue seems to be happening with all of the credit card transactions.
Here are the screen captures of the relevant pages in InfusionSoft, so you can see what has happened.
No Order Information does not come through.

Payment Details Not Coming Through Correctly

Card Type and card name not coming through

Would appreciate knowing if this is just our setup of an issue generally with IS Integration.
Currently I’m sending people a zero order product, so they can enter their card details, which updates the credit card details in InfusionSoft. [Also, I have to do this with multiple registrations, as the orders get created in InfusionSoft, and the only way to be able to apply a payment is to have a person complete the zero order for each registrations with their e-mail address, so the correct credit card details can be used and applied to their order.]
Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

I am sorry Seth hasnt been able to get back to you on this yet. Unfortunately he is now out of the office for a couple of weeks for some well deserved R&R.

As he is the core developer on this, he really needs to respond to you, but I can ask another developer to look at it and see if they can assist.

Hi Mike, I’ll be taking over for Seth while he’s gone.
It seems there are a number of issues you’re experiencing, and I’m getting started on investigating each.

  1. in your original post you mention

The person completing the registration, also got an error message after submiting their card details on the Event Espresso Payment Page.

Seth asked for that error message, and it seems to me that in your reply, you include screenshots for different issues (mostly missing information), not the error message mentioned. Can you provide a screenshot of “[the] error message after submiting their card details on the Event Espresso Payment Page”? That will help us get started on debugging it.

  2. Next, in your reply with all the screenshots, you mention a few different pieces of information which aren’t getting set in InfusionSoft. I suspect most of those problems result from Event Espresso not sharing as much information as you’d like with InfusionSoft, not necessarily that there is an error occuring. Either way, there’s something that can be improved. I’ll investigate as to whether that’s the case.

Also Mike, as I was trying to setup a local test environment, I noticed that Infusion Soft doesn’t actually do the payment processing… you need to configure a “merchant account” to do the actual payment processing, which could be one of dozens of different payment gateways.

On the settings -> merchant accounts page in Infusion Soft, there’s a an option to “test account” (see screenshot). I would try that to verify your merchant account is setup correctly. If it is, and you’re still getting the error (which, as a reminder, we’d really appreciate a screenshot of in order to better troubleshoot), then please let us know which merchant account type you’re using.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the updates. The error message you mentioned was what I was told from InfusionSoft had occurred when they looked at the order and payment information. The payment information was deleted when we had the person update their credit card details via InfusionSoft so the orders could be processed.

The screen shots I sent through show the credit card details not coming through correctly, which was the same with the initial transaction I.

With the merchant account, yes my merchant account is fine.As I ended up sending the client an online form to update to their credit card details, so I could use it to process their order.  This was all done via InfusionSoft.

Thanks, Mike

It’s difficult knowing if I’ve fixed your issue Mike without knowing exactly what it is or reproduce it myself…
But I’m hoping that it is a direct result of that missing information mentioned in your screenshots. I’ve updated the addon to set the credit card type and billing name and add IS products from EE events, and will uploading this updated version to EE’s pre-release channel asap (probably tomorrow).
If you are still having errors, please send us more screenshots and as much info as possible so we can reproduce them.

ok I’ve posted this updated version (1.1-BETA) of the InfusionSoft gateway to Eventespresso.com’s pre-release channel. From our testing, it sets the credit card’s name correctly in infusion soft if you’re using infusion soft as the payment gateway in event espresso. It also adds products to infusionsoft for event/price combos when attendee register for events. Hopefully this fixes your issues Mike.
