Hi,
In the past I used EE 3.xx. If I had an event planned, I could hover over the name of the event and it would give me the option to click for more information. In the extra information, there would be 2 buttons: 1 to download a pdf with info and another to go to the registration-page. Is that still available? Thanks for your trouble, kind regards, Rob

Hi there,

I’m not aware of this function in EE3, do you still have a version active anywhere that I can either view or you can grab a screenshot of?

Hi Tony,
My appologies for the delay. I replied to your (noreply-) mail. Stupid!! I have prepared the following.
If you go to https://yellowresearch.nl , click on ‘All our trainingcourses’. I have prepared a test-event Test for EE3. In the attachment I have zipped a number of screenshots to illustrate my points (can’t find where to upload them !!)
.
In EE3 I have, when making a event, the option to include a post (‘Ability to make a post’-screenshot).
In my media library I import files with additional info regarding the event that clients can download. If I look at my media library I can see which file is attached to which course (screenshot: ‘Overview wich pdf is attached to which event’). Here, as you can see, I can (un-)attach my pdf to an event e.g. Test for EE3.
When I click Attach I get a list of posts which represent the events available (screenshot: ‘Attach pdf to event’).
When I now go to the frontside of my course, this would be what my event-calender would look like (screenshot: ‘Basic presentation event (no hover)’. If I now hover over the event, I get the ‘Click for more…etc’. Clicking on that I the text of my pdf (this is just example so I only changed te title) + an option to register (screenshot: ‘Only register’). If I added the post and put ‘Download leaflet’ in the Description of the pdf a get the possibility to download the leaflet (screenshot: ‘with download and register’).

I would like to be able to do the same for my new EE.

Hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Rob

You’ll need to host the .zip and post a link to it here for me to view.

For example, you could upload it through the media uploader on your site and then post the link here.

You can mark your post private if preferred.

I can’t view that link as you need to be logged in, when on the above page copy the ‘File URL’ value and paste that here.

With EE3, events were not a ‘post’/custom post type within Event Espresso but it did have the ability to create a post/custom post type when an event was created.

It looks like you’ve had some custom development to link PDF’s within those posts and the table showing the event details with the hover also looks custom, what shortcode is that page using?

EE4 events are already a custom post type, although any custom development created for EE3 will not work with EE4 without modifications.
