I upgraded to EE4, and found out that to add any kind of add-ons that I used in EE3, I have to shell out $200+ extra. Thats not cool!

Anyways, If I disable “Display Ticket Selector” from the Events page, how do I go to checkout page? Where do I get the link?
What I want to do is provide people a button, how I did it with EE3, that was linked directly to the event’s checkout page. Any ideas how I can accomplish this?

Hi Cheri,
Event Espresso needs a ticketing or pricing option to begin registration checkout even if the event is free.

So you mean, I need to have “Display Ticket Selector” always checked in order to register. Can I bypass the Events page and take people straight to checkout if I create a button with a link?

Yes, that is correct Cheri. Although it is called ticket selector, you can change the messaging so it has a better fit for your project.
For example, some members have changed it to say registrations or courses.
Is that something that you would be interested in?
Event Espresso does not have a link that will trigger a registration.
However, we do have these options:
a) Ticket selector on the events listing page (example.com/events) – set through the templates (General settings) area in the WP dashboard
b) Ticket selector on single event pages – enabled by default
c) Ticket selector shortcode – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-shortcodes-template-variables/#ticket-selector
