How to delete / remove attendees?

Hello, I am looking for basic documentation on how to delete attendees.

The site is running wordpress 3.7 and event espresso 3.1.35.2.P this is an installation that was upgraded about a month ago. Here is the event registration page: https://expeaventures.com/event-registration/

I am trying to figure out how to DELETE or REMOVE an attendee from an event so that they are not counted in the number of places for the event and ideally so that they do not appear in attendee reports, etc…

Currently the best I can do is change the attendee status to “Cancelled” but then they are still counted as taking one of the available places for the event.

Please help! Thanks

Hi Spencer,

From the event overview, hover over the event title, then click the “Attendees” link that appears below the title of the event. From there, you should be able to select, then delete an attendee: http://www.screencast.com/t/oZCgtn03

Hello Seth,

Thanks for your response. I do not appear to have any of the options that your screen cap shows at the bottom of the attendee table?

I have created a quick post on the site with 3 screen caps to illustrate the attendee pages where I do not see a delete option.

I am working with the French version of the admin interface, but this does not appear to be a translation issue – it appears that I don’t have any of the delete, mark as attended, etc.. options that you show in your screen cap.

Please advise,

Thanks!

Hi,

The page Seth is referring to (the Attendee Overview page) is when you click either the All attendees link or the attendee link under each event name.

Check this screen shot out – http://take.ms/WV8RT

Hello,

Thanks again for the replay – however none of the options that you are describing appear on the “all attendees page”. I am going to update to the latest version and see if that resolves the situation. I have requested a key reset because I do not appear to be able to do automatic updates. After I update I will try again and if the problem persists I will do a short screen capture video to show you that none of the options you are describing are present on my install. Thanks

Definitely looks like something is missing from your screen shot. Also, this button looks to be messed up: http://www.screencast.com/t/uTAXoFp8z

So maybe there is some type of translation error that is hiding the button? Or maybe a translator entered some HTML into the translation that is breaking other HTML elements?

Can you try viewing the HTML source around that area?

Hello Seth,

Just updated to the most recent version of event espresso and the problem still persists. It does appear to be some sort of strange translation error.

Here is the source code – the value does indeed appear to be incorrect and likely causing other problems as well.

<pre class=”brush: html; gutter: true; first-line: 1; highlight: []; html-script: false”><input name="delete_customer" type="submit" class="button-secondary" id="delete_customer" value="nt.</p><p>[invoice_lin" style="margin:10px 0 0 0;" onclick="return confirmDelete();" />

How can I correct that value? I tried locating it in the .mo and.po files, but no luck so far.

Thanks

Hello again,

I’m experimenting with the .mo and .po versions of the files to see if I can resolve the problem.

I think the issue may have something to do with the fact that this is a bilingual website – English and French – using WPML.

What is the correct way to set-up event espresso to be able to switch between 2 languages? Is this possible? If not, how can I set event espresso to display only in French regardless of the language chosen by the person visiting the site?

I’m hoping that if I get this properly configured it may resolve this problem.

Thanks

Hi Spencer,

Event Espresso isn’t officially multi lingual compatible. Some users have had success (we think) with WPML, others with Qtranslate, but we have never received any feedback on exactly how it was achieved.

What is the correct way to set-up event espresso to be able to switch between 2 languages?

We have no formal guides as we don’t formally support multi lingual sites.

Is this possible?

There has been some success, but as mentioned we generally only see localised issues so it’s hard to say if it is possible properly. From the responses I see on the forums, Qtranslate seems to cause less issues, but that is circumstantial.

If not, how can I set event espresso to display only in French regardless of the language chosen by the person visiting the site?

If you means while the rest of the site is available in two languages, then you would need to refer to the multilingual plugins help to find out how to whitelist certain pages, and set the four core Event Espresso pages as whitelisted.
