EE Version 3.1.22.2P

Upgraded to WP 3.6 tonight and receive multiple errors when users register and when added by admin.

Renewed EE business license to get one-click update however the site_key still shows inactive on my profile despite having entered it and saving multiple times on the General Settings page.

hi Dchandler,

What is the url of the website where you have your license key activated? What plugins do you have installed?

Hi there,

With the lite version still being installed, you may need to remove it before Event Espresso will update automatically. Also, it might work better to manually update these add-ons. Here’s a link to the documentation that shows how to manually update Event Espresso:

Josh,

I have removed EE Lite and saved the general settings again but the one-click update is not prompted. The add-ons are not being utilized as I understand their individual functionality.

I am uncomfortable deleting EE a month before our event. How can the one-click be enabled?

I checked and the 1-click update feature along with the option to add a site license key was not added until Event Espresso 3.1.25.P. So in this case you’ll need to do the manual update for Event Espresso and its add-ons. The next time you update it will work with the 1-click. When you delete an older version of Event Espresso, you’re deleting the files, not the event data that’s in the database. The files in the older version of Event Espresso do not have your event data.

That said, we recommend backing up the files on the site and the database so it can be reverted back to just in case the update (automatic or manual) fails.

That went really well. >:-|

I backed up the database per the instructions, removed the mostly functioning version of EE. Now the .zip won’t upload because it exceeds the file size of php.ini.

Now my site is offline.

You can try manually uploading the files using FTP or increase the upload limit on your server.

FTP worked. As of now it appears that EE is back to normal. I will do some additional testing tomorrow. Thank you for the guidance.
