Hi! I’m trying to set up the payment options, but being quite new to all this I’m having all sorts of trouble. The largest problem right now is that even after payment, the payment options are very visible in the thank you page. How do I remove then, so that confused customers won’t try to pay twice? Other troubles I have is the Paypal payments not registering (Luottokunta works though), and also setting up a cash payment option in a way that would let us and the customer know through email confirmation that that is what the customer chose, but my main issue at the moment is with the thank you page. If you have any advice I would really appreciate help. Best regards, |

Hi Markus, There is a setting to display the payment options on the thank you page. Event Espresso -> General Settings -> ‘Show payment options for “Pending Payments” on the Payment Overview page?’ Set that to No and update the settings… However the payment options will only be displayed if the registration has a status of something other than complete. Which version number of EE3 are you using? |

Thanks for your prompt reply. I must have looked at the wrong confirmation screen, sorry! The Luottokunta is working ok it seems. I can’t get the cash payment option (I tried to change the text in money order/cheque option) or the Paypal to work though, but I can disable them for now and figure them out later. I’m sorry for my mistake, I should have run one more check with the Luottokunta. |

No problem 🙂 What is happening with the other payment methods?
Did the text not change? What happens with PayPal? |

Thanks, and sorry again 🙂 With cash option the text changes alright, but the Luottokunta buttons remain in the thank you page and because the payment is still “pending” we can’t get and send confirmation email – so a cash option order might slip unnoticed by us. This could be avoided if I turned on the option of sending reservation confirmation email before payment is received, but I’m worried that if even the Luottokunta paying customers get reservation email before payment, they might stop their order process there. With Paypal I set up the Paypal according to this tutorial: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/ However, the order status remains pending regardless and the payment buttons remain visible on the thank you page. Btw, one more thing I’ve been trying to figure out is, is whether it is possible to set my own public holidays to the calendar? We are a small travel company, and we offer a lot of tours, which we will handle as recurring events. Because of that we have lots of events, so it would be nice if I could just set the calendar in such a way that all activities otherwise planned on 25th December, for example, would be cancelled. I’m sorry for the randomness of my questions, but I don’t suppose you would know? We have had our new site made for us by another company, but now I’m suddenly the one who needs to put it into working condition without knowing in too much detail how Event Espresso works, so while I’m trying to update my knowledge ASAP I’m still very much trying to figure things out. Oh, and the versions are: |

Again no problem, we are here to help 🙂
Hmm, the buttons will be displayed because the registration is pending, only ‘Complete’ registrations will remove the buttons. This is to allow users that selected Invoice (and other offline payment methods) to make an online payment at a later date if they prefer. For the confirmation email, I’ll check if there is a work around, can you confirm if you are still using the money order/cheque payment method to provide this option?
Are you using PayPal sandbox or PayPal live currently?
Unfortunately that isn’t possible with the current setup, the events created on those dates will need to be manually deleted or closed. |

Hmm… I guess it is not that much of a problem if the buttons are there as long as it is very clear that the reservation is complete. Maybe I could add some text and move the payment buttons further down the page to prevent “panic clicks”. One thing that makes the thank you page difficult for our customers is the language though. This is probably extremely n00b question, but could I translate Event Espresso texts for our site? How should I do it so it won’t get overwritten with EE updates?
Thank you! I’m using the money order/cheque payment method, since that seemed like the best way to go. If you recommend something else I’m willing to try different methods too, though 🙂 I’m using Paypal live right now, since at least on the paper setting it up seemed straightforward enough, but if it gets complicated I’ll switch to sandbox. Thanks for answering about the calendar, I’ll just remove the events on holiday dates manually then! |

Hi Hanna, Translations are handled by the language files, though our Finnish translation for EE4 is only 5% (EE3 is at 55%). You can use the language files and a program such as Poedit to change the wording (see here https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/), or use our Glotpress system (see here:https://eventespresso.com/features/languages/). Tony is still looking into the email aspect, and will get back to you once he has more info. As an aside, Luottokunta has been bought out and is being decommissioned and basically shut down, and the payment system is being replaced by one that we do not support. You may want to look into an alternative payment gateway. |
