I’ve purchased and installed the Promotions Add-on. I must be missing something. I need it to take $2 off each ticket. But if my registrant buys 2 of the same ticket, it’s only taking $2 off. I need it to take $4. One per ticket purchased. Not one per transaction. Help? I’ve GOT to have missed some vital step in setting this up…

Hi there,
It turns out that the promotions add-on calculates the discount per event per order. If you want a per ticket discount, you can set it to be a percentage discount.

My coupons are $2 off per ticket, with about 10 different ticket prices for the same event. How does a percentage change that correctly, per ticket? Would I need a different promotion with a different percentage off for each individual ticket? So and order for 2 $10 tickets would be a 20% off promotion linked only to that specific ticket and an order for a $10 ticket and a $7 one would be two promotions, each attached to each ticket, one for %20 off and the other for 28.57% off? etc etc (Yowser…)

I think I misunderstood. I see from the documentation that a promotion is limited in scope to the EVENT, not the ticket. So instead of having multiple tickets, I need an individual “event” to represent each “ticket” in order to have different percentages of coupon (for the $2 to apply no matter the ticket price). (And let’s not even mention that I have some tickets that aren’t supposed to have any coupon allowed.) So instead of having one event with all my tickets available, I need to enter each type of ticket as an individual event to be able to have different percentages for each ticket? Or have I gotten completely and utterly confused now? Good golly I’m going in circles… And thanks in advance…

No that would not change the way the Promotions add-on works. The only other way I can think of that would allow for giving a $2 discount for each ticket in the order would be they’d input a unique discount code for each ticket purchased in the order.

Yeah, that won’t work for obvious reasons. I have one code word they need to enter that gives them $2 off each individual ticket with 10 differently-priced tickets available for that discount.
