having trouble deleting an event datetime

I want to delete an event datetime for my cooking school, but I don’t want to totally delete the cooking class. How can I just delete the event datetime as there is no trash bin icon next to the datetime?

Thought I should also add that the datetime is showing on my website calendar (Event Espresso calendar) even though there are no tickets assigned for the event.

Hi,

Is there a lock symbol next to the datetime and/or have any tickets associated with that datetime been sold? IF so then the datetime cannot be deleted, at least unless you delete the registrations associated with the datetime first.

There is no lock symbol next to the datetime and no registrations.

Hi Michelle, could you capture a screenshot of the event datetime & ticket area from your event editor in your WP dashboard and then upload to WP Media and share it here?

You can also upload to a free service like getcloudapp.com or tinygrab.com and link to it here.

Thanks

Lorenzo

Hi, it looks like it may be the only datetime on the event. Could you create a new one, then save, and then try deleting the original dattime?

LOrenzo,
Presently I don’t have any Greek cooking classes scheduled and I don’t want to set any up, but I want Greek cooking classes to be an option in my class list. When I first set the site up I was able to create each of the classes without setting any date times, so I must be able to just delete this date time and leave no date times offering at the moment? There seems to be some glitches happening with EE4. I now have another one which has occurred. I have setup a number of date times for my Italian 1 class with assigned tickets. Please see the links below for the problem that is showing up on my site. Can you help me fix the 2 problems I’m having please? 1 – to delete the Greek class, and 2 – to have all my Italian 1 classes available for purchasing.

Hi Michelle, go to your event via the event editor in your WP dashboard and adjust the maximum number of tickets allowed per order to a higher value than zero:

http://cl.ly/image/14183U0s2N3c

It doesn’t need to be set to 10 but if its set to zero, then no attendees will be able to register. It needs to be at least 1.

Be sure to save changes after changing the value.

Thanks for the quick response Lorenzo. In this screenshot…

it’s showing that we have limited the number of tickets to 14, 14, 14 and 12 for the 4 events we’ve setup. The screen shot you sent doesn’t seem to be from EE4 – I can’t find any menu like that in my dashboard. I have gone to the Italian 1 event in my dashboard, clicked on edit event and am looking there for a screen shot similar to yours. I can’t find anything like it.
As you can see in my screen shot we have set the number of available tickets well above 0.
Is there somewhere else in the dashboard I should be going to to find the screen shot you sent?

Hi Michelle,

All of your events must have at lease 1 datetime (show in the screenshot below) to No to prevent users registering onto the event.

The setting @lorenzo mentioned is within the side bar of the event editor – http://take.ms/mljXB

The ticket limits are defined for each individual ticket, the datetimes limits for each individual datetime, this limit is for the entire event so if it is set to 0 no registrations can be made.

Great! My Italian 1 classes are now fully available! Thanks for the help! 🙂
