I inserted the shortcode for the map to appear in the event description and get the 500 Internal Error. I am using EE3, WP 3.9.1.

Help! I really want the map to display.

Hi,

Could you let us know the shortcode that you are using? Also, please go ahead and temporarily remove it so that your single event page loads again.

[ESPRESSO_VENUE id=”1″]

I have removed it.

Hi Daniel,

You could try this instead:

[ESPRESSO_VENUE]

It automatically will grab the correct venue if you’ve selected a venue in the event editor.

If the above still throws an error, can you set WP_DEBUG to true to see if it prints out a more detailed error message? The more details, the better in this case.

Here is what I get when I use WP_Debug and the shortcode you provided

Notice: load_plugin_textdomain was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.7 with no alternative available. in /home/theniins/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3195

Can you check to see if the venue manager active?

Along with that, can you create a new test event, assign the same venue to this test event, then place the [ESPRESSO_VENUE] shortcode in the event’s description?

Also if possible please let us know the venue details so we can try to reproduce the error on another site.

Found that I had left a shortcode in the event venue description and that was killing it. Sorry for my confusion and thanks so much for your phenomenal support!

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for letting us know you resolved it. Was the culprit shortcode an EE shortcode or some other? The venue should strip out shortcodes to stop issues like this.
