In the older version of EE, you were able to select that registration was confirmed before payment received. Now, when I select check in the payment process, I only get a payment pending email and the registrant doesn’t show up in the count of registrations. I see the person is registered, but I need it to count towards the max number of spots. Basically, I want the registrant to be confirmed even when payment is still pending, but I do not see anything in the settings.

Hi Erin,

You can adjust the default registration status via WP-admin (WP dashboard) –> Event Espresso –> Events –> Default Settings.

Change it to approved and then save changes:

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks for your reply. I did what you suggested but it’s still not confirming the payment and is sending pending payment emails.

Hi Erin,

It turns out modifying the default reg status the way Lorenzo mentioned will not update events that have already been created, just events created from this point on will default to Approved.

So if you go to Event Espresso -> Events.

Click on your event and look within the ‘Event Registration Options’ – http://take.ms/Burgn

You will find a Default Registration Status for that particular event, set that to Approved.

Update the event and retry.
