Getting Double Registration Emails and Editing Emails and Event Name in PayPal

When someone registers for an event, they’re getting double registration emails. One is the default registration confirmation email under general settings (which I want) and the other is a second confirmation email that seems to be auto-generated (which I don’t want). The subject of this second one is: “[event name] registration confirmation” and includes a registration summary, registration ID and PDF download of an invoice (even tho event was already paid for).

How do I stop this second confirmation email from being sent? Also, how do I change the subject line of the first email (the default default registration confirmation email under general settings) and also the name associated with the email address that is sending the email because currently it comes in as “WordPress” rather than the company name.

Lastly, using paypal as the payment gateway – when checking out, the event is listed as “General Admission – Event Name”. Is there anyway I can change the “General admission” portion of this? I assume paypal is pulling this from the info in the plugin somewhere.

Thanks!

Ok – I got it down to 1 email (I think that other one was the pre-registration email), but I’d still like to change the subject line of the default confirmation email and also the name of who it is coming from (so that it doesn’t say WordPress) and also the event name once it’s sent to paypal.

Hi Sarah,

The other email you were seeing may have been the admin email notification if you were testing this and registering with the same email that is set to get the admin notifications.

There is a setting in Event Espresso>General Settings under email settings labeled “Use fancy email headers?”. If you set that to yes it will change the from name from WordPress (which is the WordPress default) to the organization name/email set above in Event Espresso>General settings.

The subject line for the default confirmation email does not have a setting, but it can be customized by using the email manager. If you want to change the default subject line, the code that handles this is in email.php on line 295.

Update:

The General Admission text that gets sent to PayPal is from what’s set as the name of the price type in the event editor and that can be changed by editing that field in the event editor.
