Hi folks,

I’m reviewing event management solutions for a client who plans on running a number of training events.

1) They require a two-fold discount mechanism:

Firstly, that discount codes can be generated to allow certain clients to purchase the courses at a discounted rate. I saw that EE3 supports this but I’m not sure if the feature has made it across to EE4 yet.

Secondly, that discounts are offered on multi-purchases. So if two courses are ordered, they receive a 20% discount on the total, a 30% discount for 3 courses up to a maximum of 50%. Would it be possible to implement this with either version EE?

2) They require Stripe integration for payment – is this possible or is it just Paypal?

3) How flexible is the front end templating? We would like to have a list of events on the homepage (which will use Isotope to display a grid of events), and you click through to an event detail page for each (which includes the booking button). Will we have this much control or are we restricted to pre-defined layouts? I’m happy to do the development if we just use a custom version of the WP loop…

Many thanks for your assistance.

Just to clarify – there may be 10 separate events on the site. We would like to be able to offer a multi-discount for individual events. So if you buy tickets to 3 separate events you get a 50% discount on each (rather than 3 tickets to the same event)…

Hi Joe,

Event Espresso 3 will meet your requirements as it supports promotion codes as well as volume discounts.

The promotions codes system allows a flat discount or a percentage discount.

The volume discount allows a discount after a certain threshold is met, for example, apply a 10% discount if more than two events are registered for at the same time.

Stripe and PayPal are also supported in EE3 and you can enable both at the same time to offer your attendees/registrants multiple payment options.

There are a handful of templates that can be customized:

These can be copied over to the following folder which will preserve customizations when the software is updated.
