Fatal errors when viewing events

About a month ago, I installed the latest version of Event Espresso on http://www.mitrauma.com. Just now, they’ve gotten around to adding events. They can add events just fine, but When they try to view an event, they’re getting fatal PHP errors.

Clicking on the view link from the Event Overview page, yields this error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_attendees() in /home/mitrauma/www/www/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/espresso.php on line 972

When I try to view http://mitrauma.com/event-registration/, which has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode, I get this error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function display_all_events() in /home/mitrauma/www/www/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/espresso.php on line 1027

I just download and reinstalled all the files this morning, but I’m getting exactly the same behavior.

Hi Dan,

Can you temporarily rename wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ to anything other than templates (templates-temp for example) and retest the event-registration page please?

You’ll need to do this via FTP.

OK. I just did this, but get the same results.

Hi Dan,

Can you check your server’s file paths and look to see if /www/www/ is a valid file path? Normally there’s one www/ directory, not one inside itself. If there’s only one /www/ directory, then something might be amiss in the PHP ini config file, which your host may be able to look into.

We are still showing a full list of templates in uploads/espresso/templates. The two functions that are not being found causing the errors are located in the template files. So if you can rename the folder to uploads/espresso/templates-temp to force the template files to be loaded from plugins/event-espresso/templates, which should be the stock templates, we can eliminate old template files from previous versions from being the source of the problem.

Sorry for not getting back sooner.

Josh: ‘/www/www/’ is indeed correct.

Sidney: I did as instructed, and am now able to view the events!

So, now while I can see the events, I’m getting this message:

In order to use this feature, you will need to move the files located in the /home/mitrauma/www/www/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates/ directory into the /home/mitrauma/www/www/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ directory.
The permissions on your templates directory are incorrect.
In order for the system to see your files, you need to set the permissions to 775 on the following directory.
Path: /home/mitrauma/www/www/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/

I”m guessing that if I do this, I’ll once again get the original errors. What should I do?

After re-reading the text above, I decided to do as it instructs. I copied over the files and set the permissions to 775. Now, it appears that I can both view the files and edit the templates.
