Fatal error – Website down after upgrading to EE4

Hi,

I had a website operating the latest version of EE3 at http://www.watersidemetalart.org and after trying to upload EE4 the site has gone down. When I try to enter it gives the following message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare espresso_version() (previously declared in /home/content/38/9739238/html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/espresso.php:31) in /home/content/38/9739238/html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/espresso.php on line 35

Hi Steven,

You will need to deactivate Event Espresso 3 before you activate Event Espresso 4. You’ll likely need to manually deactivate Event Espresso by re-naming the either of the Event Espresso plugin’s folder using your host’s control panel or with FTP. Here’s a guide that outlines a few options on how to disable a plugin without access to the WP admin:
