What version were you updating from and the updating to? Did you update the add-ons too?

BeardedEagle

I was using the built-in plugin update in WordPress. The add-ons appear to have been updated first. The changelog says [5.0.11] was the latest release.

Looking at https://beardedeagle.com/ I’m seeing a fatal error related to easy reports and analytics EE4 (a plugin we did not create):

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘EE_Event’ not found in /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/easy-reports-and-analytics-EE4/includes/wdm.dashboard.shortcode.php:243 Stack trace: #0 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(324): wdm_dashboard_shortcode->wdm_ee_check_event_user_relation(Object(WP)) #1 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(348): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #2 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(565): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #3 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp.php(830): do_action_ref_array(‘wp’, Array) #4 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php(1336): WP->main(”) #5 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-blog-header.php(16): wp() #6 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/index.php(17): require(‘/home/customer/…’) #7 {main} thrown in /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/easy-reports-and-analytics-EE4/includes/wdm.dashboard.shortcode.php on line 243

I have a back up of the site, so I can remove it. Someone else was managing our site, so maybe the put it there.

Garth,
This problem could have been caused by me renaming the folder so I can manual upload a new version.
But again, i can remove the that plugin.

Hi there,

Any object caching enabled on the site?

Which PHP version is the server running?

Have you tried reinstalling Event Espresso? De-activate it by renaming the event-espresso-core-reg directory to something else (just add -temp on the end is fine).

Then manually reinstall EE via Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload plugin.
(Do not manually upload via FTP)

You can download the latest version from your account page.

Re-activate and see if you get the same issue.

The fatals you are getting are from missing dependencies but those files are all built into core so should be available.

PHP version: PHP 7.4.33
I flushed the cache, deactivated the Event Espresso, and deactivated easy reports and analytics EE4. The website came back. I reinstalled Event Espresso and received the original error. See below.

Fatal error: Uncaught RuntimeException: Invalid arguments supplied for the EventEspresso\AutomatedUpcomingEventNotifications\domain\Domain class, 2 were required but 0 were passed. in /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/EE_Registry.core.php:1295 Stack trace: #0 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/EE_Registry.core.php(800): EE_Registry->_create_object(‘EventEspresso\\A…’, Array, ”, false) #1 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/services/loaders/CoreLoader.php(110): EE_Registry->create(‘EventEspresso\\A…’, Array, true, false, false, ”) #2 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/services/loaders/CachingLoader.php(157): EventEspresso\core\services\loaders\CoreLoader->load(‘EventEspresso\\A…’, Array, true) #3 /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espress in /home/customer/www/beardedeagle.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/core/EE_Registry.core.php on line 1295

Do you also have the Automatic Upcoming Events plugin installed? If you do, can you disable that to get rid of the fatal error?

I’have filed a ticket with our development team.

Also, which version number of the Automatic Upcoming Events plugin is currently installed, please?

BeardedEagle

I renamed Automatic Upcoming Events to deactivate it.
Version Event Espresso – Automated Upcoming Event Notification (EE 4.9.44+)

You should see a version number for that add-on listed:

Ahhh ok that’s why.

Delete that version from the site, that is a really old (pre-release) version of the AUEN add-on.

Then go to your account page and download Automated Upcoming Event Notifications v1.0.7.p, save the .zip to your machine.

Go to Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload plugin.

Select the .zip from above and install, then activate.

That version should work fine.

If you do get an error post that here and deactivate it in the same way you did the above, I’ll investigate further from there.
