I have read this topic: https://eventespresso.com/topic/facebook-links-for-events/

and understand that I would need to link my facebook event under custom fields however the only items under custom fields on my event are email address or name. How do I add a facebook link here?

or alternatively how to I remove these event links from my email templates?

and lastly how do I remove the twitter link at the bottom of emails when we do not have a twitter account? It shows facebook, twitter and google plus but we don’t have twitter or google plus.

Thank you in advance for your time!

Hi,

Your social media links can be added through the General Settings page for Event Espresso.

The social media icons can be removed by editing the Message templates through WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Messages.

They are used in multiple message types so you would need to edit each of them and then save changes.

Thank you Lorenzo,
I have edited the general settings page but in the messages above the general links are three links for event specific pages. In the forum topic I mention above they say that these can be edited under custom field (for each event) however there are no social media links for me in custom field on the events page.

I had tried to edit the messages as you mention but I don’t see any social media links at all when I view the message templates. I must be looking in the wrong place. I’m looking in event espresso – messages – default message templates. I can see the shortcodes for social media listed under approved short codes but I don’t see the shortcode in the message. When I preview the message the social media footers don’t appear but when it sends out the email they are there.

Hi,

These are managed through the messages system:

WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> Messages. Now locate the Registration Approved message type and click on Registrant.

You can remove them from the main content area:

They can also be removed from the event_list area:

Be sure to save changes.

Then repeat this for other templates as needed.
