Export of attendees list problem

When I export in either CSV or Excell from the attendees list I am given a page that says: Are You Sure, try again. I click try and again and I am returned to the attendees list but no export file is generated.

Hi Andrew,

Can you let us know which version of Event Espresso is installed and if there are either of the Roles and Permissions add-ons installed? Also, are you logged in as admin when you do the export?

Andrew Appleton

It is Version 3.1.35.2.P and I have Roles and Permissions Version 2.0.6 plus Permissions Version 1.5.4.1. I am logged in as admin. Thanks.

Hi Andrew,

Can you try the export with the two R&P plugins deactivated?

Andrew Appleton

Just tried that and it does the same.

Can you try exporting the attendee list from the event overview. When you hover over the name of the event there will be a “export” link. I’m trying to narrow down where the issue is here. It may also help to log out, log back in as admin. It may also help to deactivate any other plugins that modify user roles or change security settings in the WP admin.

Tried all that in the order you listed them and it is still the same.

Hi Andrew,

Can you create a new admin account and try running the export from this new account? Have there been any plugins installed that alter user roles at any time? Examples are Advanced Access manager and Members.

Hi Josh,

I have created anew admin account and logged in via that. Disabled every plugin except for the main Event Espresso ones and it still does the same thing. This is a list of the plugins I have:

I checked the list and is it the case that the Basic Roles and Permissions add-on is not installed? If so, the basic Roles and Permissions add-on needs to be installed in order to use R&P Pro.

Also, were the events set up by a different admin account?

Andrew Appleton

The Basic Roles and Permissions add-on is installed but de-activated together with the Pro version as that was suggested at the beginning of this thread. I have also logged out of my normal admin account and logged in as a new admin so the events were not created by the same account. Again suggested above. If I return to my original account the same thing happens. I have tried deactivating basic permissions, deleting the directory and re-installing it, the same thing happens.

Hi Andrew,

Can you send a export of the database to the support@eventespresso.com email address so we can investigate further?

Hi Andrew,

I checked the data, and loaded up the database you sent onto a test install and did a test export and it’s working as expected. This seems to narrow the issue down to something on the server side of things. The first thing to try in this case is increasing the amount of memory available to WordPress. There is a file on your server named wp-config.php that can be edited; If you add this line to the file it may help:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '64M' );

Please see this guide for more info about increasing memory:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

It may also help to check the server’s error logs to see if there are any errors being thrown when the export button is clicked.

Cracked it! It was the Themify Theme that I was using that caused the problem. Thanks for all your help, much appreciated.

Hi Andrew,

That’s great news! Glad you found a fix. If possible, could you advise what the fix was for future Themify users (like myself!)?

I have changed the theme on this site to one from Themeforest (Something I was going to do anyway) so not sure why the Themify theme was giving problems. I run their themes on 2 other sites with no problems but they are not running Espresso.
