Hi,

1) Is it possible for users to sign in on an event without having to pay? My client works in an area where many stand holders want to pay cash on the day of the event. I think by default EE 3 won’t let you sign in on an event without payment?

2) Related to this (a bit): is there a way to postpone acceptance of a sign in? My client want to be able to manually accept reservations because of limited stands or because they want to control how many of a certain stand are allowed on the market or fair.

Hi Ying-Fu Li,

A ‘Payment Gateway’ is needed to close the session for any event that requires payment within EE. However, you could use one of the offline payment gateways (such as Invoice or check) which the user can select.

Attendee Pre-Approval is available within EE3. Is you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Under Advanced features you will find the option ‘Enable Attendee Pre-Approval’, set that to Yes and save the settings – http://take.ms/BBsfy

Then within each of your events you can enable the Pre-Approval feature for that event – http://take.ms/g1XUa

This will hold the registration (taking no payment) until the Admin views the attendee list and Approves the attendee. The user will see something like this – http://take.ms/sywWr

Then the admin views the attendee list, clicks the ‘Awaiting approval’ link for the attendee – http://take.ms/4auuB

Approves the attendee, and click send invoice – http://take.ms/A2SDO

The user can then either user the online payment methods to pay for the registration, or invoice options if enabled.

Does that help?
