Event Registration Details Email

I am having an issue where my client is suddenly (as of this morning) receiving all Event Registration Details emails. She wasn’t receiving them prior to today and I can’t find where to set who receives these emails. I thought it was just the admin account that received them but her email address is not associated with an admin account. If we have 4 admin accounts do they all receive these notifications? How do I find out why she is receiving them and stop them?

Thanks!

Hi Melinda,

By default, the event creator or author will receive those emails.

If you originally created those events and then updated her to be the the event author (e.g. edited events and set her to be author and saved), then she would receive those notifications.

Go to Event Espresso –> Messages. Then locate Registration approved and click on Event Admin. What is the shortcode that is in use for the TO field?

[EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] = This is the event author

[CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] = This is the organization email which is set in the general settings for Event Espresso

[ESPRESSO_ADMIN_FORMATTED_EMAIL] = This is the same as above (co formatted email)

[EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] is in the “To” field.

The person suddenly receiving these emails is not the event author. I double checked and it is her assistant that is the author.

Hi Melinda,

Two ideas come to mind:

1) The event author was switched on the event-level basis. Try browsing to an event and toggle screen options and then place a checkmark for the event author. Then scroll down and check for the author. If it is correct, then try checking one other event.

2) Your client setup a filter in her email account for forwarding certain emails to her assistant.

I figured it out! I had deleted one of the admin accounts the day before because it wasn’t necessary and it was associated with my email. I had been receiving the event notifications and was trying to stop them. In deleting the account I chose to attribute all of the content from that admin account to the person who suddenly started receiving the notifications. In doing that it made her the author of the events.

Thanks for the help!

Wow. That makes perfect sense! Glad you figured it out!
