Hello,
I would like to setup an event where an adult can sign up and then add children attendee’s to their ticket purchase.
So for the primary attendee I added the questions,
“how many boys are you bringing”
“how many girls”
“T-shirt size”
On my first attempt when I try to test sign up I pick 3 tickets.
The first is fine. I say 0 girls, 2 boys, t-shirt=large.
However on the 2nd attendee it asks,
“How many girls, how many boys”
So I figured I had to create a new question group.
I created a 3rd question group and Added:
First Name (sub)
Last Name (Sub)
and added t-shirt from group 1’s questions
(Sub meaning secondary attendee)
The sign up looks to work fine however the invoice mailed to the attendee
says
Registrant(s):
Adult name
etc
—————
Adult name
etc

It does not display the child name.
Am I doing this correctly?
Is there a better way?
When I print out my attendee list will it show which kids go with which adult?

Thank you.

Hi Daniel,

One of the limitations is that Event Espresso needs a name and an email to create a registration record. If that isn’t available, then the extra information will be associated with the primary registrant.

In your example, this would be the parent/guardian.

The children would not appear as additional registrants in the registrations overview screen since they are linked to the parent/guardian. However, their information would appear in the registrations CSV report option.

Will all events on your site have a parent + child combination?

Lorenzo,
I think there will be at least one event a year with the option of parent/child combination.
I can foresee other events with single user sign up.

Hi, I came up with this idea some time ago:

https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/eca9e34274c4710c8361

However, it works best when all events have a parent/guardian + child combination.

Thank you Lorenzo for providing a solution.
Where do I add these CSS changes?

Hi,

You can add new styling to your child theme’s stylesheet or through a plugin like Reaktiv CSS builder or My Custom CSS.
