http://www.otffeo.on.ca/en/learning/otf-connects/calendar/ There are many events in calendar but, for some reason, some of them do not show up Please let me know how to make it visible in calendar. Thanks |

Hi Chris, Could you go to that event in the event editor and make sure that its set to public and active? http://cl.ly/image/0v151K3F2c22 Then can you save/update the event through the event editor? — |

Hi Lorenzo, Thanks for your tip, however, I do not see Advanced option and not able to check the status “active” We use Event Espresso Version 3.1.35.P On the calendar there is a published event on November 3 but it does not show If I have to upgrade plugins which one should be installed first and what backup should I make before the upgrade. Thanks for your assistance

We recommend a full site backup when upgrading any plugins. This includes all of the sites files and the Database. We have a guide to doing this manually here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/ However there are multiple plugins available that will do all of this in one step. Such as: https://wordpress.org/plugins/backupwordpress/ However you may want to use another, just take a look within the Plugins repo The Advanced options @Lorenzo mentioned should be within the Event Options in the side bar when editing an event – http://take.ms/Ulwa5 Do you not have those? |

Hi Tony, Thanks

Hi Chris, I removed your contact information as these support forums are partially public. Could you backup your site and update to the current version of Event Espresso? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-log/ — |
|
Hi Lorenzo, We use Event Espresso Version 3.1.35.P There is no option of “upgrade” in WP dashboard. Thanks |
|
Hi Chris, You would want to backup your site. Then remove the old versions (including add-ons) and then install the latest versions. We have a guide here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/#update_manually — |

Hi Lorenzo, I hope that upgrading Event Espresso will resolve the problem not showing all events in calendar like November 3 or December 1,2,3 and 4 Can you please tell how to make a backup of my current Event Espresso in case I need to go back to it later as explained below? Does “deleting” mean deactivating? We use 2 plugins: Do I have to deactivate both plugins or just Event Espresso and see if it fixed the problem. Thanks |
|
Hi Chris, That version was released in 2013 so that is why we are recommending an update. There have been many fixes since your version: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/change-log/#3.1.35 Please see this resource on backing up WordPress: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-back-up-your-site/ — |

Hi Lorenzo, I am confused about WP and Event Espresso plugin. I run backup in WP in Dashboard under Tools and DB Backup. I though there is a separate backup procedure for Event Espresso Thanks for clarification |
|
Hi Chris, Backing up your site is a good practice before making changes. You would want to backup the entire site. Event Espresso itself does not have a backup feature. If you aren’t comfortable backing up manually, then there are plugins like Duplicator and BackupBuddy available that can help you with this. Then you can proceed with a manual upgrade. We don’t expect things to go wrong, so its good to have a backup in these cases. — |
