Event List includes rogue date-time

I have a number of events, each with a number of date times and a number of tickets. The system works fine except that I have one ticket that when purchased sends an email that lists incorrect date times in the Event List. It’s supposed to say Oct 10, 17, and 24 but instead it lists Oct 6, 10, 17, in that order. Every person who has registered for this event has had this happen. Nothing like this has happened with other tickets or other events. Nowhere in the system is there an oct 6 as a date time. The oct 24 date time doesn’t have oct 6 lurking anywhere. When I have event espresso list the date times on the website, there is no oct 6. It only appears in the registration email. I have checked every ticket/datetime assignment to make sure everything is correct. Because this event is next week, I’m fine just letting it expire and move on, but I’d like to know how to troubleshoot this in case it happens again.

Also, I notice that these emails list the date time as Oct 6, 2023, but in other events, the emails say 2023-10-06. I have no idea why this is different for different emails. There are other events that list it the first way, so it does not appear that this lines up with the main problem mentioned in the first paragraph, but I mention it just in case it provides some kind of hint.

I set up some tickets/datetimes before the newer version came out and some before, so perhaps this is relevant.

Hi there,

Can you link me to the event in question so I can take a look?

Thank you.

So from your opening post, this must be on the “TIC (Oct 10, 17, 24)” ticket, correct?

That ticket’s ID is 157

If we use that ID to view the datetimes assigned to it through the REST API:

https://www.affinitywellnesseducation.com/wp-json/ee/v4.8.36/tickets/157/datetimes

(I’m using the REST API as I don’t have access to the site admin, we’ll move on to how you can check this in the admin shortly)

That ticket has 4 datetimes assigned to it.

DTT_ID – 138, 139, 140, 141

Start dates for each DateTime:
138 – 2023-10-06
139 – 2023-10-10
140 – 2023-10-17
141 – 2023-10-24

Looks like there is an additional ‘TIC Part 3’ datetime assigned to the ticket?

Within the admin, edit the event.

In the Event Dates section, click to show the filters and then set the status to all dates:

https://monosnap.com/file/U3lZZVKel7Rj4afAOswWPhEMebee5X

Can you see a datetime with ID 138 listed there? (top left of each datetime card)

If so, click on the ticket icon on that card, can you see the ticket assignment for the above shown there?

OK, thank you. I removed it so I assume it’s fixed. But I am confused about two things: First, why did the email NOT list the 24th date time, and second, why was this date time not listed when I looked at the ticket for this event?

Also, how can I know if there aren’t other instances of hidden date times associated with a ticket if the ticket isn’t showing it? It’s not efficient to go through every unlisted date time to check for this.

OK, thank you. I removed it so I assume it’s fixed.

Whilst I understand why you’ve removed it, I wanted to see if you could see the assignment there to troubleshoot more to be able to then answer your next questions…

First, why did the email NOT list the 24th date time, and second, why was this date time not listed when I looked at the ticket for this event?

I can’t answer those now as the assignment has been removed, even adding it back may ‘fix’ the issue.

If you add a test registration to that ticket and trigger the emails, do you see the correct dates? I’ve just added a test registration under my name and stopped at the payment step. If you set that registration to be Approved and trigger notifications I’ll check the email to confirm.

Also, how can I know if there aren’t other instances of hidden date times associated with a ticket if the ticket isn’t showing it? It’s not efficient to go through every unlisted date time to check for this.

Do you have a database back from when this was happening but before the above update that I can install locally to troubleshoot?

I can’t give you an answer to this without knowing what has happened with the assignments to see where its gone wrong.

I approved the registration.
I don’t know if I have a database copy but I’m going to let it go, and if it arises again I’ll revisit it.
Thank you.

I approved the registration.

Thank you, I’ve confirmed it shows the correct dates.

I don’t know if I have a database copy but I’m going to let it go, and if it arises again I’ll revisit it.

Whilst not ideal, if it does happen again and you can see the assignments, leave the assignments as they are and open up a thread for it.

At that point if you send over temp login details, details of the event and the ticket in question on this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

I’ll log in and take a look to see if anything stands out.
