Event is showing as sold out and preventing payment finalisation

We have some pending payment registrations, with incomplete status. However if I send them a payment reminder or their invoice with a payment link, they can’t finalise payment — they get the message that the event is sold out.

We did have some tickets limited to a quantity of 30 but want those “pending payment” registrations to be able to complete payment.

How can we turn off the “sold out” notification so that these people can finalise payment?

Hi there,

If your event is currently sold out, that means you have a limit of 30 set and you have 30 Approved registrations already, correct?

If EE then allowed those Pending Payment registrations to be able to pay right now, we would basically be allowing overselling on the event, so what you need to do for the above is increase the ‘limit’ set on the event so it is no longer sold out. You can disable the ticket selector on the event so that no new registrations can be made but the above should then be able to complete payment.

Set Display Ticket Selector to No.

Within your datetime/ticket limit, increase the number of spaces available to allow for the registrations to pay and update.

Do the links then work?

Thanks for the reply.

We’ve expanded the venue and can now offer places to our pending / wait listed registrants.

That particular ticket is now locked off — so I can not make changes to the hard limit of 30.

I did try migrating one of the wait listed applicants to a new ticket with no limit but the new payment link still shows as sold out.

Is the event itself showing a status of sold out?

Hmmm so these registrations are on an archived ticket with a limit of 30.

Whats the datetime limits?

Hmm and that’s still not allowing you to pay?

Do you mind if I take a look at the event in the admin? I’d like to match the setup locally and test this further.

Related to this query is why would a registration show as “complete” when there is no payment recorded?

There are no line items on the transaction, so basically, nothing to pay within the transaction and it shows complete.

Do you have caching enabled?

Is the Multi Event Registration add-on installed?
