I am considering moving my current WordPress website to another platform/vendor. What are my options for continuing to post/ticket my events through Event Espresso?

Hi there,

To clarify (as it’s often confused), what are you defining as a ‘non-WordPress’ site?

WordPress is the Content Management System for which EE is a plugin for, you can’t use Event Espresso outside of WordPress itself.

However, people often confuse the difference between hosting with WordPress.com and using WordPress for your site. If you are moving platforms, what are you planning on moving to? Again EE can only work within WordPress, but if you are moving hosts and still using the WordPress CMS itself you can continue to use it so I’m trying to work out the particulars for the above.

Thank you. I am considering move to a Squarespace website. So, it seems in that case that I wouldn’t be able to include the EventEspresso plug-in. I’m just gathering info now, so this is good to know. Not sure if or when I’ll actually make the website change.

If you’re moving away from hosting your own WordPress website, you could consider using our sister platform, Event Smart, which is Event Espresso but we host the server and you only pay a small monthly fee. You can put your events on Squarespace too: https://help.eventsmart.com/article/155-how-to-embed-the-ticket-selector-in-a-squarespace-website-page
