Event Espresso Demo – No Payment Options & Pre Sales Questions!!!!

I just received a link to the Event Espresso demo. Having gone through the admin panel, I did not see anywhere to configure Payment Gateways nor see which payment gateways were available.

Pre Sales Questions:

1. Can you CONFIRM that this plugin works with Authorize.net?
2. When people register for an event, I need them to pay the full event price before the system accepts their registration. Does Events Espresso allow this????

*NOTE: I read on the WP Forums that this plug-in allows registration without paying. This would be useless for my needs.

Simply put, I need to collect FULL PAYMENT before Event Espresso even registers the user in the system.

Please advise.

Hi Mark,

1) Yes both Aim and SIM are supported.

2) No it doesn’t. The system will always register the user once they get to the confirmation page. It sets the user up with one of 3 statuses:

Completed

Green tick, payment received.

Pending

Triangle icon. Will be marked against the attendee count but payment not received.

Incomplete

Red circle icon. No payment received and they are NOT marked against the event capacity count.

Generally you will only see Complete or Incomplete unless you change some of the settings to have Pending thrown into the mix, or are using an “offline” gateway such as invoice.

OK. Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I need to accept full payment before allowing registration.

No problem, sorry that Event Espresso isn’t a good fit for you.

Hi,
I’m interested about eventespresso and I had the same questions.
The “Full payment before allowing registration” problem seems to be a hot topic (specially on WP forum) and I don’t understand why you don’t address it more directly or make an option for that ?

I tested http://www.fortedmontontickets.com/ and when I register for an event WITHOUT paying I don’t receive the email with the tickets.
But when I do the same test on the testdrive I receive the email with the ticket even WITHOUT paying (to be fear it says “If you have not done so already, please submit your payment in the amount of”).
So my question is, can I have it the same way as fortedmontontickets.com ? Is it out-of-the-box or doesn’t need some tweaking ?
Thanks
Regards

Josh

Hi there,

There is an option to not send out a registration confirmation until payment is made, which is more than likely the reason that you did not get an email from fortedmontontickets.com. So, yes, it is an out of box solution.

About this:

While Event Espresso does capture the registration information before payment, it does not by default *complete* the registration before payment. This means any registration that does not pay does not count toward the attendee limit. Unpaid registration do not take up registration slots. This allows for a variety of payment options, including register now and pay at the door.

Thank you, that and the “option to not send out a registration confirmation” should resolve most people problem, you should comunicate more about it (on WP forum).

Thanks for the feedback Omid, I will look to create some documentation regarding this.
