I tried to use event espresso shortcodes to add calendar to a portfolio item of the Revolux theme. Calendars didn’t appear on page. Event espresso shortcodes works fine on pages but not on portfolio items.
Any advice on the issue?
Thank you.

Hi,

The shortcode should work in any post type, so it sounds more like a JavaScript error.

Can you provide a link to the portfolio page that has the shortcode on it please?

Hi Alex,

Using the link provided I can see the Espresso Calendar loading within the page.

Is this working as expected now?

Hi Tony,
It’s not event espresso calendar. It’s another plugin (booking calendar). I can add it but I am not able to do the same with event espresso, unfortunately.

Ah apologies, I see now.

So just to confirm if you add [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] to a page, the calendar displays correctly? But when you add this to your portfolio cpt, the calendar is not displayed at all?

Which version of the Calendar do you currently have installed?

I’ve added shortcode [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] to portfolio cpt and Calendar is ver. 3.0.0.reg

Hi,

Can you add the EE calendar shortcode to a normal post or page and provide a link to it please?

Also is it possible to add the shortcode to a Portfolio post but one where the is no other calendar system, and provide a link please?

I am trying to clarify why certain aspects of the calendar are not loading up correctly.

Thank you for your help.
Here are the links and my steps to reproduce an issue.
http://satoura.frogpro.ru/espresso_calendar-page/ page
http://satoura.frogpro.ru/2014/08/05/espresso-calendar/ post
http://satoura.frogpro.ru/portfolio-items/espresso-calendar-portfolio-project-3/ portfolio project
http://satoura.frogpro.ru/portfolio-items/espresso-calendar-portfolio-project-4/ portfolio project

What I noticed is that during the process of project creation for portfolio you can see calendar while previewing your changes.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create project, add short code -> preview -> EE calendar exists on page
2. Save project -> preview -> EE calendar exists on page
3. Follow the link directly to saved document -> EE calendar is not there any more

Hi Alexander,

Thank you for those links, they confirmed my suspicions, thought the preview thing is a little odd.

Basically the EE calendar scripts are not being loaded on the Portfolio pages at all.

I did a quick check and can see no clashes on your site, nor anything in the free version of the Booking Calendar plugin.

It could be theme related, in which case there is little we can do. I ran some tests on other themes which have different custom post types, including portfolio ones and did not run into any trouble displaying the calendar on them.

There are two other possible issues:

1) Your theme and the EE calendar plugin both reside in folders that end with .tmp While this may not be an issue it might be worth just removing the .tmp and see fi that assists.

2) On the Post and Page where you added the EE calendars, changing month causes a Time Out error – GET http://satoura.frogpro.ru/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=get_calendar_event…0&end_date=1412542800&show_expired=true&event_category_id=&event_venue_id= net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Again that might not be related but it’s certainly an issue.

I also had some issues connecting to your site.

Thank you for your answer.
My site was so slow and even didn’t respond at all because of server issues on bluehost. So I am moving from them to A2 hosting.
I’ll try to play with .tmp and will write here back.
Once ageain thank you for your help
