We are planning on using magento for our ecommece solution and process all of our online payments through it.

Right now we use event espresso for a summer camp registration we do every year. We would also like to sell tickets for events and other things with EE.

What we would like to do is merge the two somehow. Basically use Magento as the registration and payment front end and EE as the event management backend. Does anyone know if this is possible? Does the Json API provide this type of integration?

Hello,

Event Espresso was written for WordPress. I’m not sure how you would connect Event Espresso to Magento but it won’t work without WordPress.

We would have EE installed on a wordpress instance. We want to use all the features of EE but would like to use our magento site to display and process payment for the events.

Whether the Json API is robust enough to handle that is not something that has been tested. Remember that the Json API was originally written to handle interfacing with an Android or iPhone app so that the phone or tablet could be used to scan tickets at the door. I’m know that getting the Json API add-on rewritten to interact with EE4 is something that is a high priority with the development team, so I don’t know how much time is available for expanding it’s interaction with EE3.
