What capability allows a user to be a choice in the Author dropdown when creating an event page?

Are you using EE3 or EE4?

If EE4 have you enabled the author within the ‘screen options’? – http://take.ms/8HmZO

EE4. Yes – I am not asking how to see the author dropdown, I am asking what role capability makes a user appear in that list. My admins appear, but my other users don’t. I use members, so I would like to add that capability to my other users.

Hi Toni,

The Author box checks for the Author role. One way to add the Author role to a custom user account is use the User Role Editor plugin, which lets you add additional roles. Here’s a screenshot that shows the role editor where you select Author:
