Error With Event Submission

I received an error today when submitting an event.

“There was an error in your submission. The event was not saved! Please try again.
WordPress database error: []
INSERT INTO rry_events_prices (event_id, event_cost, surcharge, surcharge_type, price_type, member_price, member_price_type) VALUES (0, ‘0’, ‘0.00’, ‘flat_rate’, ‘General Admission’, ‘0’, ‘Members Admission’)”

Any suggestions on what may have caused this?

Hi gavcaz,

What is the full version number of Event Espresso you are using please?
You can find this within Dashboard -> Plugins.

Are you using the latest version of WordPress?

It looks like I’m currently running Version 3.1.36.5.P

Hi gavcaz,

Is it possible that your WordPress database was unavailable at the time because your server was not responsive or your disk storage is full? Does this continue to happen if you try it again?

Did this just recently start happening, or how long has it been since you created a event that you would have noticed this happening? Did you update WordPress or any other plugins recently? I’m just trying to detect what might have changed in order for this to begin happening.

Yes, this did just start happening. I have updated the EE3 plugin and EE3 Calendar plugin in hopes that would fix it with the newer version of wordpress. I am also having an issue when I try to add a new event and click publish the page just refreshes itself to an empty event entry page. It does not save.

Hey there,

Do you get any errors when you try to create a new page or post?

No, I am not having any issues with pages or posts. Something else I am now noticing when creating a new event. There are an extreme amount of event pricing options and many optional time fields displayed.

Do I need to revert to WordPress 4.2? I’ve tried all the plugin tricks and nothing seems to be working.

No, you don’t need to revert to WordPress 4.2, but you do need to update to Event Espresso 3.1.37.5.P. Version 3.1.36.5.p is not compatible with later versions of WordPress.

I am currently updated to 3.1.37.5. Since my previous post I have updated.

Is there anyway I can send you some screen shots of the problem with the time and cost fields?

This looks like the exact problem I am having…

It looks like the person did not edit the database tables themselves but you did instead.

If you can send us login details I can take a look at this, please send details using this form:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

I will need to install a plugin to gain access to the database and remove those values.
