Emails sent a great length of time after registration

Hi,

My website is using the Stripe payment portal along with event expresso for registration. A test email comes instantly, but when I actually sign up it can take upwards of 6 hours for me to recieve the confirmation email that I registered.

I believe I have this setting correct already: http://imgur.com/3XYbLoy

How do I make the registration confirmation email come instantly?

Hi there,

If you already have EE set to generate and send the email ‘on the same request’ as shown in your screenshot it is likely the delay is from the mail server you are using rather than Event Espresso.

If you look within Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message Activity you will find a list of messages that have been generated and set there. If you add a registration and run through the payment, then view that table list, does it show your email there with a green status bar to the left? If so EE has generated the message and sent it off to your mail sever, from there EE no longer has any control over the email its all down to the server.

Generally, when we see this it means your hosts mail server has a large email queue and the delay is from your message working its way through the queue.

You can contact them to investigate further, or we recommend switching to a transactional email service to avoid an issue like this in the future:
