Emails not sending upon successful registration of an event

Hello I added some more text to the email that should be sent out after registering for an event. I tried using the test email widget on the right side to double-check if the registration email would be sent successfully and I also tried registering for an event and in both cases, I did not receive any email saying that I had registered.

Hi there,

Which specific template did you edit?

If you look in Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message activity, can you see the emails you should have received listed there?

If so, what colour ‘status bar’ (the bar to the left of each of them) do they have?

They all have a green bar next to them but I have nothing coming in my inbox when I register

Ok, to explain, above I’m checking that the messages were triggered and ‘sent’ as far as EE is concerned.

The fact that they show the green status bar means they were triggered, generated and ‘sent’ (passed over to your server) without any errors, which means the problem is further downstream from EE.

I’m guessing you are using your host’s mail server? No SMTP plugins etc?

Nope no SMTP plugins are being used.

Based on your MX records it looks like your using Gmail, so try using something like:

https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

To send your email via SMTP.

Do you receive the emails then?

Alright I will. I’ll create an event and test it out and see if that helps. Thanks for the prompt responses!
