Email will not send / Re-direct to "Thank You" page does not function

Since installing the plugin and purchasing a license, the email auto-responder and the re-direct to the confirmation (“Thank You”) page does not work even after selecting the right page within the general settings. This work is for a client and is on a tight deadline.

If you can get one event to function properly from start to finish, I will be able to duplicate that process for the rest of the events. Once that is done I was also wondering if it is possible to remove specific elements like “admission” and “registration information” from the form.

The purpose for these event is to sign people up for small groups in a church, so no purchase or tickets will be necessary. Please also take a look at the layout of the form, as the aesthetic of the information seems glitchy and unorganized.

Can you provide a link to the event list or registration page?

Also I can send login information privately. I just purchased a support token but I’m not seeing a way on the site to make use of it. I filled out the form, but there was no submit button.

Hi Daniel,

The submit button on the redeem a support token form will appear after all of the information has been filled out.

Hi Daniel,

If you’re not having success with the redeem a support token form, you can send the credentials via email to our support@eventespresso.com address and support staff can take a look.

Daniel,

Support staff is off for the rest of the day. We can look into this tomorrow if you can send us credentials by then.

In the meantime, you should check the page settings and make sure:
1) There’s a published page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on it and
2) That page is set to be the main registration page in Event Espresso>General Settings>Page settings.

Josh,

I changed the page settings and it is working better, but the email confirmation is still not sending for some reason. Do you have an alternate email for me to send the wp login credentials? I received a failure to send message when attempting to contact support@eventespresso.com

Thanks

Again, not trying to be a pain but this work is on a very tight deadline so any urgency is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
Daniel

Still haven’t seen anything come in yet. Have you tried sending any information to us today?

Hi Daniel,

I ran a few tests and can confirm that your WordPress installation is having troubles sending email that will deliver. You can test this yourself by going to WP>Tools>Check Email and try sending yourself an email. This is site wide and not affected by Event Espresso.

One thing it says it’s sending via a yahoo.com email address, which may be a mailserver configuration issue. I can recommend installing a plugin like the WP Mail SMTP plugin and set up a gmail account to send the emails through.

Other than that, the thank you page should not load if it’s a free event, so it’s working as expected there. I installed a custom CSS plugin and added a style rule to remove “Payment Overview”.

I also set the option to Skip Confirmation Page during Registration Process? The confirmation page had the mention of price, and they will not see that now.

Although “Admission” was something that was typed in for the price name and can be removed by editing the price name in the event editor.

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions. If you have some specific suggestions about what you mean by “as the aesthetic of the information seems glitchy and unorganized” and how you’d like to see the information displayed we’ll see what we can do.

Thanks Josh. Please see link below.

We would also like to remove “Price $0.00” and the “maps and directions” feature for any events that are TBD.

Hi Daniel,

These are done. With the “maps and directions” feature for events that are TBD: You will need to leave the address fields blank for events that are TBD and it will not display the “maps and directions” feature.

Thank you sir. Could we also have a line break between the “Date” and “Address” text. I would do this myself but I am not familiar with the code in place. Thanks again.

If you go into the My Custom CSS editor in your WP admin you can add this to add some space between the date and address:

.event_espresso_form_wrapper form p.event_address {
margin-top: 13px;
}

The pixel value can be adjusted to make for more/less space.

Excellent. Is it possible to add another field with the same formatting as “Description”? I would like to incorporate the “GROUP LEADER:” text in the shortcode above the description section or above the event name with the same formatting of that event title so it flows seamlessly.

Hi Daniel,

It is possible by means of the EE_META, and adding this would involve digging into the registration_page_display.php template and adding the custom field shortcode there. I’m afraid that the 30 minutes of priority support have been completed. If you’re comfortable with editing PHP templates and you want to take this one on I can point you to the documentation:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#ee-meta
