We’ve recently sent emails to attendee lists where the people from three states are not receiving the email: NY, TN and FL. These emails going to all other states are being received. We’re using the Event Espresso email template. Are you aware of an issue in these states or others where group emails sent would not go through to these states? Is there something we can do to get emails to these attendees? Thank you |
Hi Deborah, I’m not aware of this being an issue. May I ask which version of Event Espresso is installed on the site in question? |

Hi Josh, I’m not even sure it even is an EE issue, but thought I’d ask if there was something going on having to do with group emails that you all might know about. One of our attendees suggested it might have to do with the non net neutrality. But that’s old news isn’t it? Thanks |
Hi Deborah, Net Neutrality was actually repealed and that’s being challenged in court. You can learn more about that here: https://www.eff.org/issues/net-neutrality They could be right in that it might have to do with ISPs from those locations have some different email filtering in place where they’ve mistaken the email for spam. |

Thank you, Josh. I’ll pass that on. I guess there are no workarounds to help get email to these folks? |
There is one thing could do that will help if the issue is the emails are going to spam. Your WordPress site can be switched to use a transactional email service, which will help ensure email deliverability. We have a guide that includes a variety of transactional email services and their plugins: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ |

OK, Josh, thank you. I will check all this out. We use Constant Contact for group emails for newsletters and have not experienced this issue. And, it’s only this most recent event where we’ve experienced issues with emails sent out through the Event Espresso Email feature to event attendees. |
Right so the difference you’re seeing may be related to using your web server’s email server for sending emails. In which case switching to a transactional email service will help. |

Hosting Service checked and confirmed that the IP is not blocked; the email servers are working fine. So, the other option you offered was to check out a transactional email service. I used your list and found that Mailjet had good ratings and were free for the number of emails we send through Event Espresso to the event participants. I’ve signed up for an account with Mailjet and installed/activated their plugin. The plugin wants me to create a Contact List. What? I expected there would be some kind of syncing with Event Espresso. Am I missing something that should be obvious? Help still needed. Thanks |
Hi Deborah, You can skip that step if you do not want to use Mailjet for email marketing/newsletters. The part you’re looking to do is set up Mailjet to do the email sending for your WordPress website, which is outlined here: https://www.mailjet.com/guides/wordpress-user-guide/plugin-settings/#select-sending-settings An important thing to know is this does not involve syncing with Event Espresso. Instead, what you will actually be doing is changing your site’s email settings so it’s no longer routing email through its server and instead it will send email via Mailjet’s email servers. |

Oh, I see. OK. Almost there. Thank you so much for explaining this piece. |
